Grungy Kids

Life on the road isn't all glamorous! :) One of the challenges of traveling via RV with little kids is that they get really, really dirty. They play in the dirt, eat in their car seats, and get tangled hair from wind, chlorine pools, and sticky treats. The dust in the desert sticks to their sunblock (which is applied liberally each morning). Our children have only had one bath this summer (in the hotel at the Grand Canyon). The only other bathing they get is from a weak-stream tiny shower in the camper. Even though I scrub them, the dirt is "baked on" (as my mom would say) and still shows even after a shower. Here are a few example photos of the kiddos in the process of getting really grungy...

This is Jamie's shirt after just one day of play. Mommy will lug bags of laundry (and detergent and coins) across a large, hot campground and spend the afternoon in a laundromat in hopes of getting it clean again...

Even after washing their hair in the shower, it took a LONG time to detangle it after this windy adventure!

You can't eat a push-up pop in 102 degree heat without some drips...

I hope you got a chuckle about this little dose of reality! :) Connie
